ANGELLA FOSTER (SHE/HER)
Director of Member Engagement & Outreach: Supporting the thought leadership of domestic and restaurant workers through facilitation, training, and curriculum development around systems of oppression and their root causes
BIO: I joined Matahari staff in 2021. Prior to that, I was a leader with the organization since 2014. I had a career as a nanny and a newborn care specialist. In addition, I am a 2020 Massachusetts Service Alliance Alum. I have also served on the National Domestic Alliance 2019-2021 Worker Councils as one of the alliance's industry experts, where I was tasked with providing critical leadership to raise standards in the sector.
My favorite workplace memory is: My workplace memory is of flyering in Nubian Square, with my fellow co-directors working hard to spread the word about our organization. We were all out in full force, handing out flyers and talking to people about our mission and goals. It was a busy and exciting day, and I was proud to be a part of such a dedicated and passionate team.
My zodiac signs are: Aries
When Iβm not at work you can find me: Taking drives out to Gillette Stadium, grabbing some fries and a coke and sitting in my car and listening to NPR or an audible book on social justice, doing the NYT crossword puzzle. If I work remotely from Jamaica then you can find me at a water falls or hanging out at beach chit chatting with the fishermen, eating fried fish with and bread and sipping on sorrel beer.
